RSA takeover in £3bn and £4.2bn deals with Intact and Tryg

RSA, the UK’s largest commercial insurer, has accepted a £7.2bn takeover offer from the insurance companies Intact and Tryg. Intact, headquartered in Canada, will spend £3bn and take ownership of RSA’s Canadian, UK and international operations. Tryg operates across Scandinavia and will pay £4.2bn to buy RSA’s Swedish and Norwegian businesses. RSA's Danish business will become a 50/50 joint venture between Intact and Tryg.
