£50bn deal sees Microsoft buy Call of Duty publisher

One of the biggest deals in videogame industry history has been announced, with Microsoft agreeing to buy Activision Blizzard for £50bn. The deals makes Microsoft the third largest gaming company by revenue, and gives it control of some of the most well known brands in videogaming, including Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, Call of Duty and Candy Crush. Microsoft is aiming to make all these brands available on Game Pass, its subscription service which recently reached 25m subscribers.
