BT Sport has lost the exclusive rights to broadcast the UFEA Champions League in the UK. UEFA has announced that Amazon will have first pick rights for all Tuesday night games, a deal that will enable Amazon to show the biggest game involving an English club. The arrangement is the latest move by Amazon into the world of live sports broadcasting, and sits alongside its existing deals to show 20 live games from the Premier League and US Open tennis coverage. BT Sport will show the remaining 553 games in the Champions League live every season, and also retain exclusive rights to the Europa League and the Europa Conference. The BBC has won the rights to show Champions League highlights on the Wednesday of match weeks, the first time the Champions League will be broadcast on free to air TV since ITV lost the rights in 2018.
