Amlin bought by Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company for £3.5bn

Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company has agreed to buy Amlin for £3.5bn. The deal is part of Mitsui’s strategy to become a market leading global insurance group. Amlin is a specialty insurer and reinsurer which was established in 1998 when Murray Lawrence and Angerstein Underwriting Trust merged.
